Another great song from Arcade Fire. In my mind, this band is operating on some unknown mystic laws which helps them achieve a level of "wowee, wowee wee-wow" that few other bands ever achieve.
A real nice song...very mellow. It takes me to a place where everything is A-O-K...and I like that place.
" You were right about the stars,
each one is a setting sun."
Warning...a pretty harsh song. Not for the faint of heart or close-minded, but what I love about the song is that it has tons and tons of heart and emotion. Think about what would drive a person to write and sing a song that is so abrasive. When I first heard this song I was blown away by how "in-your-face" this song is. For me, it's all about the singer's tone accompanied by the pounding drum that sounds like a stomping military parade. It is such a cacophony of sounds, noises, screeches and pounding drums. I just love it to death. To me it's a very liberating song.
" That's a heart that you made That's a heart and the both of you made it And I won't rest until I break it."
I, yes I, discovered this band way back when...say, the day the CD came out, and I pimped it to my roommates who thought I was a music-listening genius for discovering this awesome duo from Norway. This song is a real fun electronic dance song that really gets you jumping.
This song is dedicated to Elexia, with whom I had the pleasure of jumping to this song as Royksopp played it live in NYC.
*fyi...."Royksopp" means "smoke mushroom" in Norwegianish. =)
A cool electronic song that I always enjoy for it's ability to uplift and haunt you at the same time.
" I am really all that I've been looking for. It really doesn't matter so I try no more Just keep on searching, don't be uncertain. Your life will only be just what you want it for."
A nice instrumental song to enjoy in the morning with your morning coffee or your breakfast beverage of choice.
I decided to go in another direction here...such a cool song with a meaningful message...and that message is, "The Clash are awesome!". This is not a typical Clash song you see on "Top 10" lists, but I always liked this song for some reason. I always find myself in awe of their sound and genius. I hope you do too.
This is a band I stumbled upon while on iTunes. It's the kind of song that gets your spirits up and keeps you going. I love the singer's voice and the driving rhythm that just doesn't quit. It is a song that won't let you quit.
One of my favorite songs of 1997 to this day and every day thereafter. Enough said.
Kick-ass song from their self-titled first album, recently re-done for their latest album "The Neon Bible". Go to youtube.com and look for some of their live performances of this song...real cool. They are one of my favorite bands nowadays...I never get tired of this song. Hope you don't either. Here is a link to a live performance of the song:http://youtube.com/watch?v=cJRSG95-WEUPublish Post
A beautiful song from the album "Grace". It is a long song, but stick with it for a very rewarding experience. Jeff Buckley tragically died in 1997 by drowning. He was 30 years old and at the beginning of what many believe was to be a wonderful career in music. This is the kind of song you play late at night when all by yourself and want to contemplate life and all it's wonders, both good and bad.
Quick...who sings that song? Give up. The Talking Heads. Real cool song and it was my inspiration for starting this blog experiment. Do yourself a favor and listen to the song. Open up iTunes or whatever service you use to buy or listen to music, or if you are old fashioned go to your local CD shop, and listen to it. I like this song...I like it a lot. It hits a unique place within me that makes me content with life and this world. I write this blog in order to share songs like these with everyone. In my mind and heart, everyone should have music in their lives. Everyone has an ever-changing soundtrack to their lives, most people just haven't been introduced to it. It could be a song that reaches out to you and grabs you and holds you. It could be a lyric or a sound that connects with your inner self and you just want to hear that song over and over. Anyway, you get the idea...come back for more of my posts and songs. Hope you enjoy them all, if not today, maybe tomorrow or the next day, for one reason or another.
